Student Ministries at Deep River Friends Meeting includes opportunities for nursery, elementary, middle and high school-aged and college students.
We have our Deep River Elementary Age Ministry (DREAM), Deep River Young People (DRYP) and College Age Deep River Experience (CADRE). Our prayer and plan are that, while these are three distinct groups in our meeting, that they will each feel connected to each other and the larger meeting and find their place in the Deep River Family. We worship, serve, play and pray together in our various groups and as a whole.
Nursery
Nursery – Deep River has a nursery ministry. Two adult volunteers in the Meeting, along with one youth, supervise the nursery for babies and toddlers during Sunday School and Meeting for Worship each week. You can be assured your child, if you choose to use the childcare, will be lovingly cared for.
Elementary
DREAM (Deep River Elementary Age Ministry) is our group of children from Pre-K to 5th grade. Meetings usually include crafts, games and fellowship. We have a wonderful group of dedicated leaders that hope to teach the children about God, about Quakerism, about service and about loving others. DREAM meets for Sunday School and meets during Meeting for Worship every Sunday.
Middle and High School
DRYP (Deep River Young People) is our group of middle and high school students. We have students from several different schools in the Piedmont Triad and that makes it fun to get to know one another.
College
CADRE (College Age Deep River Experience) is our group of college students. There is a team that is committed to staying in contact with our current college and graduate school students. They will receive letters of encouragement and a treat every once in a while! Our hope is that it will eventually lead to meetings and events within the group.
Graduation Sunday
Each year, those graduating from high school and college are honored at Deep River Friends Meeting during our Graduation Sunday service.
