Palm Sunday / Easter Egg & Kite Flying
Next Sunday afternoon (April 9) is our Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Kite Flying for the children and their families. It’s held at the home of Bob and Mary Ann Cherry (1634 Penny Road, High Point). There will be snacks and goodies. Also, bring your kite and do some kite flying in the big field next to the house.

FEMAP Fundraiser
FEMAP fundraiser Tea Party April 22, 2017, 2-4:00 p.m., Springfield Fellowship Hall. All are welcome. Tickets are $10.00 and must be purchased by April 13th. (See Susie Jones or Mary Allen) Wait-ers from Downton Abbey will serve you. 100 great door prizes.
Budget Requests
The Finance Committee is asking that all Committee Clerks have their budget requests to the Finance Committee by April 1st. These can be given to either Quinn Jordan or Toni Gray. The Finance Committee will need these to begin preparing the 2017-2018 budget.
Flashlight Egg Hunt at Quaker Lake Camp
Flashlight Egg Hunt – Quaker Lake Camp – April 1 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. – for Grades K-5. Cost is $12. There will be songs, games, and a flashlight egg hunt led by the Quaker Lake summer 2017 staff. Drop-off at 5:30 p.m. and pick-up at 9:00 p.m. Registration includes dinner, games, songs, crafts, devotional, egg hunt, and a treat bag. Registration ends March 30th at 9:00 a.m. Limited capacity. Student Ministry Update
Our new Director of Student Ministries, Brittany Varner, is off and running! She’s inviting both parents and youth to meet with her for a time of brainstorming and planning. Let Brittany know what might work out for you. Brittany is also looking for folks that feel led to volunteer and give their time and gifts to the youth ministry. This can be in a variety of ways. Chicken Pie Day
Chicken Pie Day is this coming Saturday, April 1st. Volunteers – old and new, young and old – are welcome! Join us for the whole day, part of the day, or whenever time allows for you. There is always a place to fill in and help making the pies. If you have any questions, see Susie Jones.
New “Digging Deeper” Book Study
Next Sunday we will start a new conversation / discussion around the book “Soul Keeping” by John Ortberg. The book study is open to anyone in the meeting and we meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings in the Fellowship Hall. You can order / purchase the book yourself. If you have any questions, see Scott.
Welcome to Brittany Varner
A big welcome to Brittany Varner who has officially started as our part -time Director of Student Ministries! Today is her first official Sunday and we’re really excited and pleased to have Brittany as part of the Deep River Friends family and staff.
Monthly Meeting for Business
Monthly Meeting for Business is this coming Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. One of the Agenda items will include a report from the recent Yearly Meeting Representative Body regarding the ongoing reorganization plan. There will be other committee reports as well as any new business or concerns Friends may offer. All members / attenders are invited and welcome to attend the business meeting.
